Job Summary
Supporting Arc Flash and Protective Device Coordination Studies, the remote Electrical Designer II - Virginia Licensed will provide drafting, data collection, and technical assistance to Electrical Engineers for high-profile construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Support engineering studies by collecting and organizing electrical system data for Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and other studies
- Build and maintain one-line diagrams and system models using power system analysis software under the direction of a licensed Electrical Engineer
- Draft Arc Flash warning labels and electrical construction documents for data centers and commercial projects
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as an electrical designer/drafter, preferably with exposure to Arc Flash and related studies
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required; familiarity with Revit and power system analysis software is a plus
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E preferred; willingness to learn Arc Flash fundamentals required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
