Electrical Estimator

Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic and innovative Electrical Estimator for a hybrid contract-to-hire position in New York, NY, who will prepare cost estimates for multidiscipline construction projects, particularly substations and steam generation facilities, while managing multiple assignments and collaborating with engineering and construction teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates for multidiscipline construction projects
• Develop estimates based on preliminary work scopes, drawings, and historical data
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and user organizations to ensure comprehensive project estimates

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of applicable work experience, or an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or a Technical High School Diploma with 15 years of experience
• Experience in power utility or heavy industrial cost estimating, particularly in electrical, civil, or mechanical disciplines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, CEES, or similar estimating software
• Understanding of capital budget processes and utility economics for project funding approvals
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities
