Job Summary
To support patients in accessing financial assistance for medical care, the full-time hourly Eligibility Specialist 2 will conduct eligibility screenings, facilitate applications for government and charity programs, and act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, all while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced eligibility screenings to assess financial assistance eligibility and provide guidance on available programs
- Facilitate the application process for programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and hospital charity care, ensuring timely submission of accurate documentation
- Act as a liaison between patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to establish eligibility and resolve coverage issues
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities accurately
- Ability to work independently in potentially isolated settings
- Reliable internet connection and a secure workspace
