Job Summary
Collaborating closely with Principal Engineers, the full-time Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer will be responsible for firmware/software development for smart security systems, focusing on designing stable, scalable systems while working primarily remotely with occasional onsite requirements in Blue Bell, PA.
Key responsibilities
- Design integrated system components and develop high-quality engineering deliverables to meet performance, scalability, and availability metrics
- Participate in requirement definition, technical architecture review, iterative development, and code review
- Investigate and evaluate the technical feasibility of new technologies while developing core practices and frameworks for consistency and reuse
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in firmware or embedded systems development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or equivalent experience
- Recent hands-on experience in Linux and C/C++ development environments, Linux Kernel, and software security analysis
- Proficiency in toolchains such as Buildroot or Yocto, and experience with firmware Over-The-Air upgrades
- Experience with communication protocols like Wifi, Bluetooth, and IoT device development, preferably Z-Wave, Matter, and Thread
