Emergency Department CDI Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Department Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Charge Emergency Department E&M visit levels, procedures, supplies, and drug administration based on electronic medical records
• Ensure compliance with CPT-4 coding guidelines and UAB guidelines
• Maintain current knowledge of official coding guidelines and coding clinics

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience
• At least one of the following: RN, MD, or MD Equivalent (MBBS)
• 2-4 years of acute care inpatient hospital coding or CDI experience
• Familiarity with encoder and DRG assignment
• Current knowledge of official coding guidelines and coding clinics
