Emergency Department Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Department (Facility) Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Facility ED charts
• Validate facility E/M levels and code surgical procedures in the ER setting
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and maintain accuracy in code assignment

Required Qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Facility ED coding
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Must have reliable internet and current coding materials
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
