Emergency Health Information Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Health Information Coder III - Emergency - Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign ICD and CPT/HCPCS codes for patients receiving emergency department services
• Review and update pertinent abstracting data and perform data entry into electronic databases
• Generate appropriate APC level assignments through the encoder based on documentation and coding guidelines

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting with RHIT/RHIA/CCS or exam-eligible to test within 6 months of hire
• Proven skill with computers and computer systems
• Coding experience with inpatient/outpatient surgery and emergency room records
• Ability to work various hours and locations based on business needs
