Emergency Medicine Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Medicine Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes
• Identify and present errors or issues to coding management for resolution
• Complete daily productivity reports and attend departmental meetings

Required Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT-4 coding
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
• Typing speed of 35-45 WPM
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPC, CCS-P, or RHIT certification or eligibility within two years; 1-3 years of coding experience or graduation from a coding technical school
