Emergency Medicine Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Medicine Coder responsible for reviewing patient medical records and assigning appropriate codes for billing purposes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient records and assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 codes
• Identify errors or issues and present them to management for resolution
• Complete daily productivity reports and attend departmental meetings

Required Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnostic coding and CPT-4 procedural coding
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
• Typing speed of 35-45 WPM
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPC, CCS-P, or RHIT certification or eligibility within two years; 1-3 years of coding experience or graduation from a coding technical school
