Job Summary

To support the Massachusetts Child Abuse Emergency Line, the full-time Emergency Telephone Screener will engage with callers to assess the urgency of each call, document critical information, and collaborate with supervisors to initiate emergency responses for children at risk of abuse or neglect, working remotely with occasional in-person meetings in the New England area.

Key responsibilities
  • Engage with callers to gather necessary information and complete detailed case reports
  • Collaborate with supervisors to review information and make informed clinical screening decisions
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain a professional demeanor while facilitating DCF interventions
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field
  • Experience working or volunteering with children and/or families
  • Understanding of DCF's mission and relevant policies is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word
  • Ability to toggle between multiple technological programs effectively
