Job Summary
To support clients in the financial services, luxury retail, food/beverage, technology, and life sciences industries, an Employee Benefits ERISA Lawyer will work remotely or in a hybrid capacity, focusing on advising and managing health and welfare benefit plans while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the design, implementation, and administration of health and welfare benefit plans
- Counsel clients on compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related laws affecting group health plans
- Draft, review, and update plan documents and employee communications for health and welfare plans
Required qualifications
- Minimum of three years of relevant legal practice experience in employee benefits/ERISA law
- Strong understanding of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other regulations impacting group health plans
- Experience with ERISA plan governance requirements and drafting plan documents
- Experience reviewing M&A due diligence related to health and welfare plans
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of primary residence
