Endpoint Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support a large U.S. federal agency, the full-time remote Endpoint Security Engineer will design, deploy, and operationalize behavior-based endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) capabilities, ensuring the security of a vast operational fleet across multiple environments.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, and maintain Next-Gen Antivirus (NGAV) and EDR/XDR agents across a large number of endpoints
• Implement active behavioral protections against various malware threats and manage allowlisting and exception workflows
• Act as the primary technical partner to application owners, providing tier-3/tier-4 support during high-severity events

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical cybersecurity engineering or infrastructure security roles
• 3-5 years of experience engineering and administering enterprise-grade EDR/XDR platforms across 50,000+ endpoints
• Expert-level proficiency with EDR/XDR platforms across various operating systems and environments
• Strong scripting ability in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation and remediation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
