Energy Credit Underwriter

Job Summary

Leading the Energy vertical, the full-time Director of Energy, Credit Underwriting will manage credit limit services, assess buyers, and support the Commercial team in portfolio management while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assess buyers using internal and external information to prepare credit limit recommendations
• Monitor the Energy portfolio and collaborate with the Credit Assessment team to gather relevant information
• Mentor team members and participate in media engagements to enhance industry presence

Required qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA or MS) in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in credit underwriting, preferably in trade credit insurance or banking
• Expertise in NAESB, ISDA, and energy contracts, along with sector-specific risk assessment knowledge
• Strong market knowledge of the US and Canadian energy sectors
• Basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and enthusiasm for integrating AI into business processes
