Job Summary
Leading Google's advocacy in the MISO region, the full-time Strategic Negotiator for Energy Market Development will evaluate energy regulatory developments, formulate stakeholder strategies, and collaborate cross-functionally to translate decarbonization goals into actionable market positions, with the option for remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Lead evaluations of energy regulatory developments and monitor wholesale market trends to protect Google's data center portfolio
- Formulate and execute stakeholder strategies across governance bodies to shape market design and interconnection rules
- Drive consensus-building and advocacy within MISO processes, collaborating with regional partners and trade associations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development
- Extensive experience navigating the MISO stakeholder process and understanding its governance structure
- Familiarity with FERC regulatory proceedings and large-load tariffs
- Track record of building successful advocacy coalitions with utilities and regional stakeholders
