Energy Markets Research Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Energy Markets Research Analyst to support the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) by evaluating energy markets and informing research priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of energy market fundamentals and regulatory conditions
• Perform portfolio analyses of NETL/DOE-funded projects and assess project performance
• Track and interpret regulatory developments affecting NETL/DOE-supported technologies

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Energy Systems, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, Data Science, or related field; master's degree is a plus
• 3 - 6 years of experience in energy market research or related analysis roles
• Proficiency in Excel and one or more programming tools (Python, R, SQL)
• Understanding of U.S. energy markets across various sectors
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, client-ready reports and presentations
