Energy Sector System Expert

Job Summary

To support anticipated MCC-funded data quality review work in Sierra Leone, the part-time consultant Energy Sector Transmission and Distribution System Expert will assess the feasibility and quality of electricity-sector indicators, review measurement frameworks, and evaluate data collection methodologies while working remotely and collaborating with the DQR team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Team Leader in developing the DQR methodology, work plan, and inception materials
• Contribute technical expertise on transmission and distribution systems and utility performance data
• Assess data quality issues related to energy-sector indicators and develop recommendations to strengthen reporting systems

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum five years of professional experience in power system network planning and management
• At least three years of experience in designing data gathering tools for energy sector performance monitoring
• Experience with at least two similar projects in the energy sector within the last five years
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required
