Energy Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Energy's initiatives, the full-time Energy Specialist will provide technical expertise on grid integration and load flexibility for large users, collaborating with ITO staff and national laboratory scientists in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise to inform research and deployment of grid integration technologies
• Translate complex technical requirements into actionable insights for measurable savings in grid initiatives
• Engage with stakeholders to build relationships and support public-facing aspects of the ITO's programs

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations, utilities, or grid infrastructure development
• Knowledge of grid technologies and market dynamics within the data center industry
• Strong analytical and research skills with a capacity for creative thinking
• Passion for improving energy efficiency and industrial innovation
