Energy Technology Sustainability Lead

Job Summary

Owning infrastructure sustainability and emerging energy technology strategy, the full-time New Energy Technology Sustainability Lead will develop and maintain OpenAI's sustainability strategy while evaluating and deploying scalable energy solutions in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure sustainability strategy across power, data center growth, and emerging energy technologies
• Evaluate and identify pilot opportunities for clean firm power, advanced storage, and other scalable energy solutions
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology and sustainability choices with project needs and goals

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in energy technology, infrastructure sustainability, or related fields
• Strong understanding of power systems, low-carbon energy, and infrastructure reliability
• Experience in evaluating emerging technologies and structuring pilot projects
• Ability to balance sustainability objectives with operational constraints
• Proven cross-functional leadership across technical, commercial, and policy stakeholders
