Job Summary

To support impactful energy research, the full-time Energy Transitions Scientist will conduct data analysis and visualization related to energy transitions, collaborate with various stakeholders, and contribute to policy-oriented scientific communication while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct data analysis, synthesize research, and lead specific research efforts while collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Develop and apply energy modeling and statistical tools, managing large datasets for analysis and interpretation
  • Communicate scientific findings clearly to diverse audiences, including policymakers and community partners, while producing high-quality written products
Required qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent experience in engineering, energy systems, economics, environmental science, or a related field
  • Experience in research or consulting in energy and/or energy policy, particularly in energy transitions, affordability, and resilience
  • Proficiency in energy systems modeling and statistical analysis, along with experience managing large datasets
  • Strong writing skills for scientific and policy audiences, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
  • Commitment to scientific integrity and the mission of applying science to energy policy
