Engineer II, FHIR

Job Summary

To support the Hospital Quality Reporting program, the full-time remote Engineer II, FHIR will design and implement FHIR-compliant APIs, develop backend applications, and manage CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance healthcare data exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain backend applications using Java, GoLang, and Python while ensuring FHIR compliance
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define and prioritize QA/testing requirements and manage defect resolution
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins to streamline deployment processes

Required qualifications

• Experience with HL7 FHIR standards, including resources, profiles, and implementation guides
• Strong relational database experience, particularly with PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in building or integrating RESTful APIs aligned with FHIR specifications
• Experience with fully automated CI/CD pipelines from commit through production deployment
• Understanding of data validation, data quality, and regulatory reporting constraints in healthcare systems
