Engineering Director

Job Summary

Supporting the Engineering Director in a full-time capacity, the Associate Engineering Director will manage day-to-day operations of the Brisbane engineering teams, mentor engineers, and oversee business-as-usual delivery while promoting engineering best practices in a flexible working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Line management and mentorship of engineers, conducting regular check-ins and supporting career development
• Running BAU engineering activities, unblocking teams, and maintaining a steady cadence of delivery
• Providing oversight for key projects and collaborating with product counterparts to ensure timely progress

Required qualifications

• Experience operating at Staff Engineer level or above with a strong engineering background
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide engineers, with an interest in people leadership
• Pragmatic approach to delivery, comfortable managing BAU activities and removing blockers
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships within teams
• Good working knowledge of the Reapit platform or a willingness to learn quickly
