Engineering Director

Job Summary

Leading multiple engineering teams in a remote capacity, the full-time Engineering Director will shape the future of Zillow's listings and evaluation experiences across web, iOS, Android, and backend services, focusing on delivering high-impact customer products using advanced data and AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Set the engineering strategy for customer-facing products that enhance home evaluation clarity and confidence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Data Science to drive impactful customer experiences
• Coach engineering leaders to develop healthy teams and improve engineering effectiveness through better planning and accountability

Required qualifications

• Proven experience leading multiple software engineering teams and developing senior engineers and managers
• Track record of delivering consumer-facing product experiences at scale with a focus on quality and reliability
• Ability to translate broad product goals into clear engineering direction and execution
• Strong technical judgment with experience in architecture and system evolution
• Familiarity with AI-powered customer experiences and their practical applications
