Engineering Lead

Job Summary

Owning the technical vision for complex software systems, the full-time Engineering Lead will architect and lead initiatives in claims, underwriting, or infrastructure domains, collaborating with product managers and ensuring adherence to technical standards while also contributing code and mentoring engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for assigned systems, ensuring clarity in dependencies and data contracts
• Partner with Technical Product Managers to translate business problems into technical projects, defining high-level requirements and project scopes
• Run technical reviews for funded projects, ensuring alignment with standards and addressing architectural questions during development

Required qualifications

• Deep experience in designing, building, and operating complex software systems
• Proficiency in Python, Django, AWS, React, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with AI development tools and a commitment to staying current with evolving practices
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams without formal management authority
• Strong communication skills to convey technical complexity to diverse audiences
