Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a small, experienced team in a remote environment, the full-time Engineering Manager will oversee backend and platform development, guiding engineers in high-ownership work while ensuring alignment with product and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineers across multiple backend and platform teams, providing coaching and performance feedback
• Transform ambiguous work into clear execution plans, collaborating with stakeholders to maintain alignment
• Engage closely with engineers on architecture and technical tradeoffs, contributing code when necessary

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including hiring and performance feedback
• Strong proficiency in Go with hands-on experience in production systems
• Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated systems is preferred
• Ability to navigate ambiguous problems and establish clear priorities and plans
