Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading a new engineering squad on a crypto payment platform, the full-time contracted Engineering Manager will be responsible for team delivery, quality, and process, while shaping the team and hiring its members in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery and predictability, ensuring realistic commitments and stable delivery rhythms
- Build and grow the team by hiring, onboarding, and maintaining development paths for engineers
- Manage quality and stability habits, including incident response and postmortems to prevent recurring issues
Required Qualifications
- 4-5+ years of engineering leadership experience, with a background in backend engineering (TypeScript or similar)
- Understanding of the crypto and stablecoin domain, with a commitment to on-the-job learning
- Experience in hiring and onboarding engineers, with a track record of honest performance evaluations
- Ability to operate effectively in a distributed, async-first team environment across timezones
- Confident use of AI tools for management workflows and building team practices around AI-assisted development
