Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading a team of software engineers in a remote full-time capacity, the Engineering Manager will set technical direction, oversee Scrum ceremonies, and ensure high-quality delivery while actively contributing code in Java.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and roadmap, leading design reviews and mitigating key technical risks in the payments platform
- Run Scrum ceremonies, ensuring the team meets commitments and protecting sprint scope from interruptions
- Conduct substantive code reviews, enforce quality standards, and develop individual growth plans for team members
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on ownership of production systems
- 3+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing a team of 4 or more engineers
- 5+ years of Java experience, including web frameworks, with recent production Java work
- 2+ years of experience running Scrum ceremonies as a Scrum Master or equivalent
- Preferred: BS in Computer Science or equivalent senior-level engineering experience
