Engineering Manager, Backend Services

Job Summary

Driving engineering excellence across the backend platform, the full-time remote Engineering Manager, Backend Services will oversee the delivery of scalable microservices, ensuring reliability and performance while managing a team of engineers and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical strategies for backend services
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of backend microservices built in GoLang, ensuring production-grade quality and operational readiness
• Grow and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience leading a cross-functional engineering team as an Engineering Manager
• Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven hands-on background in backend systems development with strong familiarity in GoLang, Python, or PHP
• Deep expertise in microservices architecture and experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of message broker systems, particularly RabbitMQ and/or Kafka
