Job Summary

Leading the Maps & Search team, the full-time remote Engineering Manager will oversee the development of a high-throughput search platform, contribute to code and design reviews, and drive the delivery of a world-class home search experience while leveraging AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Maps & Search team, focusing on hiring, onboarding, and career growth
• Contribute to code and architecture decisions while ensuring technical excellence and smart trade-off evaluations
• Drive the architecture and reliability of a search platform that handles approximately 1 billion requests monthly

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a management role
• Experience with search, relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Experience with scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS
• Strong understanding of GraphQL and event-driven systems
