Engineering Manager, Data

Job Summary

Leading a global team of data engineers, the full-time Engineering Manager, Data Foundations will provide hands-on technical leadership, drive architecture and data quality initiatives, and oversee operational practices while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 5+ data engineers across multiple regions, fostering a culture of ownership and psychological safety
• Review architecture and code, prototype solutions, and guide the technical direction of the team
• Own the strategy for data ingestion, quality tooling, and cost optimization while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data or software engineering, including 2+ years in a management role
• Proven ability to build and lead engineering teams across multiple regions and time zones
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Providers, Kubernetes, Kafka, Snowflake, and Airflow
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and experience architecting data solutions at scale
• Empathetic communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders on technical decisions
