Engineering Manager, Data Platform
Job Summary
Leading a technically deep team, the full-time remote Engineering Manager, Data Platform will manage the development and operation of high-throughput data systems that support various key products while ensuring reliability and resilience in production environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of backend engineers, providing coaching and career growth opportunities
- Own the delivery and resilience of Data Platform's production systems, including ingestion endpoints and data pipelines
- Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to scope and prioritize roadmap work effectively
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in a management role for backend or infrastructure engineers
- Experience managing high-throughput, reliability-critical production systems such as event ingestion or large analytical data stores
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and the ability to guide technical tradeoffs
- Proven track record of partnering with Product Management to translate business goals into engineering plans
- Familiarity with observability practices and experience leading production incident response
