Engineering Manager, Data Sync

Job Summary

Leading a team of engineers, the full-time Engineering Manager, Data Sync will oversee the development of core technologies such as the data sync engine, query engine, and embedded database performance, while operating in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and grow a team of 8-12 engineers across three workstreams, ensuring clarity on priorities and optimal performance
• Own delivery across workstreams by breaking down technical programs into milestones and managing trade-offs between feature work and technical debt
• Collaborate with product managers to shape the team's roadmap, maximizing customer value while representing the team's work to leadership and stakeholders

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in software engineering, including hiring and performance management
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in database, storage, or data infrastructure engineering
• Proven track record of shipping infrastructure or database products consistently
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as consistency models and replication topologies
• Demonstrated ability to hire exceptional engineers and grow high-performing teams
