Engineering Manager - Perception

Job Summary

Leading the Offline Perception team in a full-time remote capacity, the Senior Engineering Manager - Perception will manage the development of auto-labeling pipelines and multi-modal training data, while overseeing team growth and technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Offline Perception team, managing performance and career growth of engineers and ML engineers
• Own the roadmap for offline perception model development, from dataset curation to training and delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap and drive quality improvements across the offline perception lifecycle

Required qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 8+ years of software or ML engineering experience, including 2+ years in a management role
• Hands-on experience with auto-labeling for self-driving development and delivering large-scale perception datasets
• Familiarity with AI infrastructure and data pipelines, including distributed compute platforms like Databricks and cloud infrastructure such as AWS
• Proven track record in leading technical teams and setting strategic direction for ML or data engineering projects
• Strong communication skills to effectively represent team strategy to leadership and peer teams
