Job Summary
Leading a team of engineers, the full-time Engineering Manager, Storage will be responsible for managing Runpod's distributed storage infrastructure, focusing on large-scale SAN and NFS systems to support AI workloads in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own and evolve the global distributed storage architecture to support training, inference, and dataset access at scale
- Build and manage a team of storage and systems engineers, setting technical direction and operational standards
- Design and operate high-performance shared filesystems, ensuring optimal performance for GPU clusters
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience managing storage or infrastructure engineering teams
- 8+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale storage systems, including SAN and NFS architectures
- Hands-on experience with VAST Data in production environments
- Familiarity with parallel filesystems such as Lustre or comparable HPC filesystems
- Deep knowledge of NAND, NVMe, and storage controllers, with a focus on performance optimization
