Engineering Manager, Voice Infrastructure
Job Summary
Leading the Voice Platform team, the full-time Engineering Manager, Voice Infrastructure will mentor engineers, contribute to technical work on cloud-based telecom architecture, and ensure the robustness of the distributed voice platform, with options for remote, in-office, or hybrid work arrangements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship for engineers, managing their career growth and performance expectations
- Contribute to technical tasks, including designing and reviewing code for Golang microservices and SIP/RTP infrastructure
- Collaborate with product leadership to align engineering priorities with the product roadmap and manage the team backlog
Required qualifications
- Proven experience in people leadership or technical team leadership within a software/telecom engineering organization
- Staff-level technical expertise in VoIP and SIP engineering, with familiarity in Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, and RTPengine
- Hands-on programming capability in Go (Golang) and scripting tools such as Python or Bash
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols including SIP, RTP, and WebRTC
- Experience operating production services in cloud environments, preferably GCP and Kubernetes
