Engineering Team Leader

Job Summary

To lead a small product team of engineers, the full-time Engineering Team Leader will manage team dynamics, participate in product development, and oversee hiring and onboarding processes while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a small product team of 3-5 engineers, dedicating 30% of time to management tasks while actively participating in product development
• Overseeing the hiring and onboarding processes for new engineers and providing continuous feedback and coaching to team members
• Redesigning engineering workflows and proposing operational improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes

Required qualifications

• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people
• Extensive knowledge of backend technologies, specifically Elixir/Phoenix or Ruby
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems
• Practical experience in designing or adopting automation workflows and improving them through iteration
• Demonstrated capabilities in automation and AI, with a commitment to promoting company values
