English-Arabic Translator Consultant

Job Summary

Providing ad hoc translation services, the remote English-Arabic Translator Consultant will translate written materials, including articles, reports, and social media posts, ensuring rapid turnaround for weekly publications.

Key responsibilities

• Translate articles, reports, and social media posts from English to Arabic and occasionally from Arabic to English
• Coordinate with staff to ensure accurate translation of complex or sensitive terminology
• Manage a workload of approximately 5,000 - 10,000 words per month, with a commitment to rapid translation for regular publications

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in professional English-Arabic translation
• Ability to translate 2000 - 3500 words per day
• Familiarity with technical content related to the Syrian conflict, human rights, and/or international law
• Full professional fluency in Arabic with exceptional grammar
• Professional working proficiency in English
