Entomological Illustration Instructor

Job Summary

To support a growing program, the part-time Continuing Education Instructor in Entomological Illustration will develop and teach asynchronous online courses, providing feedback and guidance to adult learners on illustrating insects through various artistic methods.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and teach online courses focused on Entomological Illustration, including developing culturally diverse syllabi
• Provide weekly recorded video demonstrations and constructive feedback to enhance student learning and creativity
• Utilize actual specimens to teach students the fundamentals of insect anatomy and accurate drawing techniques

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Professional experience in Entomological Illustration or related fields, demonstrated through recognition in publications or exhibitions
• Teaching experience, including the ability to create syllabi and lesson plans tied to learning outcomes
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners
• In-depth knowledge of Entomological Illustration techniques and methods
