Entry-Level Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist I EM.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes
• Utilize coding tools to verify the accuracy of assigned codes and abstract necessary data
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards while participating in ongoing education

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One or more coding credentials required within 12 months of employment (CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS-P)
• Less than 24 months of ED professional coding experience
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding guidelines and payer regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned duties effectively
