Entry-Level Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist I.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to assign proper ICD and CPT codes
• Utilize coding tools to verify the correctness of assigned codes
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity rates while participating in training and education

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must obtain one of the following credentials within 12 months: CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS-P
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding
• Familiarity with payor guidelines and coding regulations
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
