Entry-Level GIS Technician
Job Summary
Entry-Level GIS Technician, responsible for supporting the Census Bureau by maintaining and enhancing GIS data accuracy and completeness, working remotely while residing in the DC/MD/VA area, and is an hourly position.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain GIS data using ESRI and custom GIS software
- Evaluate, edit, and check various data layers, including street centerlines and hydrography
- Maintain a daily production schedule while working with customized data automation tools
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship and current residence in the DC/MD/VA area
- Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and related GIS software
- Some knowledge of civil engineering, cartography, surveying, and drafting
- Internship experience in GIS is a plus
