Entry Level Underwriter
Job Summary
Evaluating and underwriting commercial and personal lines of insurance, the full-time Entry Level Underwriter will work remotely to assess risk characteristics, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships with independent agents while adhering to underwriting guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business submissions in accordance with assigned authority levels
- Assess risk characteristics to determine pricing and coverage options
- Negotiate terms and conditions with producers to ensure profitable business outcomes
Required qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience in property and casualty insurance or related coursework/internship experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred
- Eagerness to learn underwriting principles and coverage forms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with various technologies
- Commitment to regular and reliable attendance
