Environmental Engineering Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary

Seeking part-time Subject Matter Expert in Environmental Engineering, the ideal candidate will collaborate with the Program Director and Learning Experience Designer to develop innovative online courses focused on applied, real-world projects in areas such as water and wastewater treatment and air pollution control engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to design engaging and accessible curriculum content that meets industry and academic standards
• Utilize emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance online course development
• Support the delivery of asynchronous courses over 5-week terms, ensuring alignment with real-world applications

Required qualifications

• Specific expertise and experience in applying environmental engineering or environmental modeling to real-world problems
• Familiarity with online teaching methodologies and experience with distance learners
• Ability to write clear, student-facing instructions
• Proficient in operating personal computers and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a commitment to the university's environmental mission
