Environmental Liability Counsel

Job Summary

Managing high-severity, complex insurance claims, the full-time Environmental Liability Counsel will focus on coverage analysis, policy interpretation, and strategic claim resolution for Environmental and Professional Liability claims in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret Environmental and Professional Liability policies, analyzing coverage issues and drafting coverage position letters
• Oversee complex claims involving site contamination and environmental cleanup, coordinating with experts and developing strategic resolutions
• Negotiate settlements and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, maintaining thorough documentation of claims management processes

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) with active bar membership or 7-10+ years of senior-level experience in handling complex Environmental or Professional Liability claims
• Active adjuster licenses and willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed
• Demonstrated expertise in coverage analysis and policy interpretation for environmental and/or professional liability lines
• Strong understanding of environmental exposures, remediation processes, and associated damages
• Ability to manage multiple high-severity claims independently and proficiency with claims management systems
