ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist

Job Summary

Researching claim payments as detailed in Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), the full-time remote ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist will manage the posting of insurance payments, interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) remittance codes, and ensure timely balancing and closing of payment batches.

Key responsibilities

• Process electronic 835's and manual payer EOBs, including posting of insurance allowable, patient portions, denials, adjustments, and contractual allowances
• Interpret EOB remittance codes and apply correct denial codes while navigating websites to obtain necessary information
• Balance and close payment batches in a timely manner, while performing special projects and other assigned duties

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience posting insurance payments in a healthcare setting
• Two (2) years of experience reading insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements preferred
• Knowledge of insurance payer types and EOB statements
• Strong balancing and reconciliation skills
