E&S Specialty Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Consultant, Contract Underwriting - E&S/Specialty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite individual risks for acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions
• Achieve production and loss ratio goals through effective territory management and marketing strategies
• Foster positive business relationships with agents and brokers while resolving conflicts and providing support

Required Qualifications:

• Five+ years of brokerage casualty underwriting experience in Excess & Surplus lines
• Undergraduate studies and completion of general insurance courses such as CPCU, CIC, AU, ARM, CPIW, CWIS, or ASLI preferred
• Eight years of underwriting experience handling large or complex programs and accounts preferred
• Ability to analyze complex insurance risks and make sound underwriting decisions
• Experience in developing and implementing business plans and strategies
