Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Escheatment Accountant will manage the disbursement control of corporate payments, ensuring compliance with state regulations while safeguarding corporate funds.
Key responsibilities
- Research state rules and regulations related to abandoned property and recommend process changes as needed
- Analyze outstanding check data for accuracy and manage the issuance of due diligence letters and reissued checks
- Prepare state filings and maintain detailed reports of claims payments to ensure compliance with state-specific requirements
Required qualifications
- High school diploma with 2 years of experience in general accounting, accounts payable, or disbursement accounting
- Completion of introductory college-level accounting classes or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in personal computer software applications, including Intermediate to Advanced Excel and payables ERP systems
- Ability to operate 10-Key by touch and apply mathematical principles accurately
- Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity is highly desired
