Job Summary

Providing detailed feedback on high school students' essays, the part-time remote Essay Editor will refine drafts, enhance storytelling, and ensure clarity and coherence while adhering to strict deadlines during the peak admissions season from August to January.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and provide constructive feedback on student essays focusing on clarity, structure, and overall impact
• Help students strengthen their voice and convey their intended messages through technical writing skills
• Maintain consistent availability to review and edit essays within a 24-hour timeframe during peak season

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Graduated from a top 50 university in the United States
• Prior experience in editing, tutoring, or coaching writing, preferably with high school students
• Background in college admissions preferred, but not mandatory
• Strong organizational skills and ability to provide constructive criticism in a supportive manner
