Job Summary
To support its EU Nature & Deforestation campaign work from June 2026 to December 2028, an experienced EU Deforestation Policy Consultant will engage in advocacy and campaign strategy related to the European Union Deforestation Regulation, focusing on corporate accountability and deforestation-free supply chains, in a remote, contracted role that can be full-time or 4/5th time based in Spain or Brussels.
Key responsibilities
- Support advocacy strategy related to the implementation and defense of the EU Deforestation Regulation at both EU and Member State levels
- Engage with policymakers, retailers, and civil society organizations to strengthen corporate support for deforestation-free supply chains and ambitious environmental policies
- Coordinate campaign activities and prepare advocacy materials related to climate, nature protection, and agricultural supply chains
Required qualifications
- Strong understanding of EU policy processes and advocacy related to environmental and agricultural issues
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in EU policy, advocacy campaigns, or corporate accountability
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders including companies, NGOs, and policymakers
- Fluency in English and Spanish; proficiency in French and Portuguese is a plus
- Existing knowledge of EU institutions and political processes related to environmental policy is highly desirable
