Job Summary

Leading the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Program, the full-time Executive Director of Clinical Documentation Improvement will oversee strategies to ensure accurate patient documentation, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and manage departmental operations, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage initiatives for the Documentation Improvement Department to align with strategic goals
  • Oversee daily operations of the CDI departments, ensuring compliance with productivity and quality standards
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and communication efforts regarding documentation with healthcare teams
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare experience, including 5 years in CDI, nursing, or HIM leadership roles
  • Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes and clinical data analysis
  • Proficiency in reimbursement systems and federal, state, and payer-specific regulations related to documentation and coding
  • Strong ability to analyze complex scenarios and establish effective working relationships with healthcare professionals
