Executive Director of Risk Management

Job Summary

Serving as the primary operational risk enablement leader for assigned regions, the full-time Executive Director of Risk Management will translate enterprise frameworks for regional use, build practitioner capability, and maintain relationships with regional business leaders while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with regional business unit heads to understand needs, track progress, and resolve barriers while building productive relationships with stakeholders
• Translate enterprise risk frameworks and standards for regional application, ensuring compliance with local regulations and business specifics
• Lead the implementation of enterprise control standards and oversee regional control monitoring and effectiveness evaluation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operational risk management or a related function within financial services or insurance
• 5+ years of people management experience, including team building in a regional or matrixed environment
• Experience with Enterprise Integrated Risk Management / GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow IRM, Archer)
• Professional risk management certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, ORM) is preferred
